Apple admits vulnerability in its devices, exposes half a billion phones to it
Apple has recognized a previous
vulnerability that has exposed more than half a billion iPhones to hack.
According to a report published by
Reuters news agency confirmed that the company intends to fix the loophole that
exists in the iPad devices as well, and was discovered by the company, which
specializes in mobile phone security, and is based in San Francisco while
investigating a sophisticated electronic attack suffered by a customer at the
end of 2019.
In the wake of the report confirming
the existence of this vulnerability, Zukobs CEO Zoc Avraham said he had found
evidence that this vulnerability was exploited in at least six electronic hacks.
In this context, a spokesman from
Apple admitted that there is a defect in the Apple e-mail software system in
some of its devices, especially iPhones and iPads known as (Mail App), and said
that the company reached a solution that will be available within the next
update of millions of devices sold globally.
This, according to the agency itself,
has refused to comment officially on Apple's research, Avraham, which was
published yesterday, Wednesday, and indicates that the vulnerability can be
accessed remotely, and that it has already been used to penetrate the devices
of users of a number of VIPs.
Avraham said he had found evidence
that a malicious program had exploited the vulnerability in the Apple iOS
operating system since January 2018.
